I'm thinking about building a new PC, and was wonder which way to go with the cpu. I would like the pc to be for everyday internet, MS office, and some gaming (nothing too crazy though-bioshock, spore, red alert 3)
Would i be better off with a Phenom II dual core at a faster speed or an athlon II triple or quad core at a lower speed? These are some of the cpus ive been looking at- http://www.circuitcity.com/applicati...073&CatId=4919 http://www.circuitcity.com/applicati...072&CatId=4919 http://www.circuitcity.com/applicati...818&CatId=4919 http://www.circuitcity.com/applicati...457&CatId=4431 http://www.circuitcity.com/applicati...301&CatId=4431 |

Depends on what you're doing honestly. The athlons will multitask better, but the Phenom will game better unless the game supports more than 2 threads.

If you're going to be doing everyday internet, MS Office, and some gaming then go with the Anthlon. Like Mutant Corn said, the Anthlon will multitask better for you.
