I heard that too. you know what that means?? hackers are going to find a way to turn the other core on. or something. and then everyone is going to be buying tri cores and use em as quad.
enabling a disabled core is not something that can be done by merely unlocking or overclocking it. disabling a core is done on the die level so if you want to enable a 4th core, i've gotta be able to use an SEM and solder on a microscopic level in order to do so. the equipment and time required for this job would be damn near impossible to afford.Agreed.
Just like overclocking a 9500 to 9600 standards, a tri core can be overclocked/upgraded somehow to make it par with a quadcore (unlocking the other core)
