Default Perpendicular Recording Hard Drives

I'm trying to decide between this hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148262
and this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148144

The second one has Perpendicular recording where the first one does not. Is there really any advantage of having perpendicular recording? Will there be any difference in performance?

I don't get why they have 2 different models that are exactly the same thing. Which one should I get? It seems the only difference is the Part Number.

Basically, it's a way to fit more media into a smaller space.
