Ok so before i was running the following system.

Abit VT7
Intel P4 2.4Ghz @ 2.8Ghz 516Mhz FSB @ 624Mhz
1GB GeiL Performace Value PC3200 in Dual Chan
PNY 6600GT AGP 500Mhz Clock @ 540Mhz 900Mhz Memory @ 980Mhz
Audigy2 Value
Antec 420Watt PSU
40GB WD 2MB cache PATA / 120GB WD 8MB cache PATA
When i ran 3DMark03 i got a score of 8000

Then my dad got a really kick ass system...

Intel Motherboard
Intel Pentium D 2.8Ghz
1GB OCZ PC5400 667Mhz Gold Performace
PNY 6600GT PCI-E 500Mhz Clock 1000Mhz Memory
Onboard Sound
Antec 500Watt PSU
250GB WD SATA 3.0GB/s
When he ran 3DMark03 he got a score of 8000

Then i upgraded my system to...

Gigabye 865PE
Intel P4 3.0Ghz 800mhz FSB with HyperThreading
Same RAM
Same GPU
Same SOund
Same PSU
300Gb SATA150 Seagate 8Mb cache
Ran 3DMark03 and got a score of 8000

why did all 3 of thoes systems got about the same score. And i notice that when i ran it on MY 2nd system (P4 3.0) i was getting 600FPS+ on some of the tests and i wasent getting that on my 1st system.

Becuase first processor is Oc'ed.
Second, is a dual core, already at 2.8
Last one is a 3.0 with HT
And there all Intels.. so you just kinda look at the clockspeed. At least the pents.

All the ram is about the same, and same with graphics card. And the hard dirive doesnt play a big role.

im not sure what exactly your asking, im assuming why there all about the same score. So i hope this answers the quesions. Although im notorious for misunderstanding questions..

well 3dMark03 is a benchmark measuring the capabilities of ur system in games and stuff like that. So the vid card matters the most.
And all of the computers have almost identical vid cards.
And the cpu's are almost the same. Ofcourse the dual core is great for normal use, but 3dMark03 doesn't take advantage from the dual core.
And when u round it up to the nearest thousand, u will get alot of same scores because 1000 points is quite much in those benchmarks.
