A Celeron is often worse then the Pentium 3... quite sad.

The Athlon 64 blows the P4 out of the water.

Intel is meant to be realising a new version in early 2005. Rather than pushing it up to 4.0GHz, which was they're target from a few years back, they are now going to increase the cache to 2MB.

They say that a P4 3.8GHz with 2MB of cache would easily outperform a P4 4.0GHz with 1MB of cache.

Has anyone else heard anything along these lines? Personally, I still think AMD will easily beat any P4 easily.

they say Athlon 64 was probably the best AMD processor and the new Sempron it aint all that great reviews say it goes 5% slower than AMD 2500 i think

Sempron is OK, but if you want quality go for the Athlon 64. Perfect for everything!

Yea I almost got Sempron b/c it was in a barebones kit and b/c it was more recent but I looked at the reviews and..................NOPE
