I don't really have the money or time to replace lots of the parts in my pc so that it can have a dual core processor. So I need an hones answer is a Pentium 4 2.6/2.8ghz 512kb cache going to help my pc performance problems with vista? I currently have a Celeron 2.59ghz 128kb cache, and this pentium is the best my mb can take. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, it will be faster. Caching on a CPU is actually important. Not just the FSB.

thanks, do you have any idea what speed a 2.8ghz one can be overclocked to - would it make it to 3ghz?

3GHZ is guaranteed. To tell you, I was able to push my CPU to 3.85GHZ and it's a 3GHZ.

Thanks but I can't seem to flash it. On Gigabyte's website they only have bios updates not the full bios, and seeing as I have a Packard bell bios It won't just let me upgrade it.
