Unhappy The PCMCIA Port quit working on my Laptop

Okay it quit working about a month ago. I tryed the card that quit responding on my laptop in another laptop but it read on the other laptop. I deinstalled and reinstalled the driver still, no response. I even reformated my PC and nothing happened. I contacted compaq and they didn't fix the problem. So i am asking you guys for assistance, please. Thank You.

Could a bios setting have changed? In my really old laptop, I had to enable 32 bit cards lol

I guess it's possible that it could have just died. But like nevermind said, check the bios settings.
