Default PCI vid card for gateway 5310s

whats the best PCI vid card i can get for my gateway? something better than my onboard intel chipset. ill alos be upgradeing to 4 gig of ram if that helps in the selection

I would think either of these would work well:

BFG 3D Fuzion 3DFR55256P GeForce FX 5500 256MB

DIAMOND X1550PRO256PSB Radeon X1550 256MB

witch card of these 2 are better the FX5500 or the Radeon X1300

I'd go with the Radeon of those choices.

The Radeon X1550 is slightly better than a X1300. It's basically an updated X1300. Plus it's cheaper too.

yes atomic ur choice is better but id have to upgrade my psu according to reviews ive read. id like to be able to just throw a vid card in and go into the bios and turn off the on the on board. you see its my grampas/ my compiuter and he dont really want me to upgrade it so i kinda have to do it secretly lol

Yea, then the X1300 would be the way to go then. Seems kinda funny that they are virtually the same card and yet their power requirements vary so greatly.

i am no big fan of ati(im a nvidia lover)
but id go with the ati because its probably one of the best PCI cards out there
it has better peformance than the fx 5500
