Default pci express?

PCI-Ex16, PCI-Ex1, PCI or PCI express I am so confused. I have to buy a new mobo and I think that I want to get pci express, what does everyone reccomend, and what mobo do you reccomend.

I have a 2.8ht, 1 80gb wd, 2 160gb wd, Nvidia 5200 128mb, 2x512 ram

I think theyre all pretty much the same thing, though I think PCI-Ex16 will be fast than the others. Better.

PCI-E (pci express) is what you want as it's the fastest slot. PCI is slow these days, PCI-E express can (apparently) offer 70 times the bandwidth of PCI. PCI-Ex16 should/could be written like PCI-E x16. There are different slot sizes and x16 is generally what is used for PCI-E graphics cards. There is also x4 x8 ( i think there is a x1 which would explain PCI-Ex1).

Yes, there is a x1, i think they are use for special modems, but i'm not sure. its still out there on new boards (intel BOXD965RYCK for example has 2, possibly 3 of those suckers) IF ya have one, its in line with the normal PCI slots, and is about I.5 inches long.
