I need some help just understanding PCIe a little more.

If you have a PCIe X 1 Slot I know this means it has One Lain.
So this One Lain has 2. Wires going into it and 2. Wires coming out of it so it has 4. Wires Total Right??

And if you have a PCIe X 16 Slot it has 16 Lain.
So every Lain will have 2. Wire going into it and 2. Wires going out of it so it has a Total of 32 Wires Right
Just tell me if I have it or not

What do you mean Kind of??

If PCIe X 1. has one Lane
this one Lane has 2. wires going in and coming out so it then it has 4 wires Total.

And if PCI x 16 has 16 Lanes then again every Lane has 2. wires going in and coming out.

so it has 64 wires Total Right??

From the link I posted:

A x1 connection, the smallest PCIe connection, has one lane made up of four wires. It carries one bit per cycle in each direction. A x2 link contains eight wires and transmits two bits at once, a x4 link transmits four bits, and so on. Other configurations are x12, x16 and x32.

I just found a lot of things about PCIe on
howstuffworks.com
But before I print it out I wanted to know if the way it tells how the Lanes work is corected and how many wires every lane has??

I think I have it now?

If PCIe X1. has 4. wires then PCIe X2 has 8. wire and so on.

Every Lane has 4. wires.

So PCIe X 16. has 64 Wires RIGHT
