C chougard In Runtime Messages 148 Jan 11, 2007 #1 Can I use PC3200 memory in a computer that currently only has PC2100 memory? My motherboard is a SY-K7VMP2. Thanks! (Sorry if I posted this twice. I got a timeout error and couldn't find it.)

LambOfGod Fully Optimized Messages 1,783 Jan 11, 2007 #3 I'm not certain on that board, But many will automatically downclock the memory so to speak, They will only use the DDR400 at DDR266 Speeds, And often time that works just fine.

Tommy Boy Golden Master Messages 8,463 Location USA Jan 11, 2007 #4 Yeah, it'll work, but like lambofgod said, the 3200 will run at 2100 speeds. I would just buy pc2100 memory if that is all your motherboard supports, it will be cheaper than pc3200 memory.
