Default PC3 10600 or PC3 12800

I tried posting this earlier but it didn't work for some reason.

I have a laptop running Win 7 64bit.

I ran the crucial.com scanner and it suggested I use

2x4GB DDR3 PC3-10600 CL9 DDR3 1333

I found some "better" RAM for a little bit cheaper

2X4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 CL9 DDR3 1600, its Crucial but its their "Vengence" line.

Can I use the PC3-12800 with no ill effects? Wont my computer use the highest allowable speed anyway (1333)???

TIA!!!

Yes, you can. Just be advised that the RAM will only operate at 1333 and not 1600.
