I've posted here before about having issues with getting surround sound out of my PC's GPU which said it supported. Well, I can't get it to work with my set up and I'm looking for a hardware solution now.
My computer has one HDMI output and I can't get 5.1 surround sound out of it. I can only hear stereo. I know it supports up to 7.1 though.
I think I need to split the HDMI and convert one of the sides to optical, for my surround sound which only has optical input and use the other side for video output to my monitor.
But I can't seem to find any HDMI to optical output converters on amazon or newegg.
