If it looks suspicious, i avoid it, and ask around/read reviews/comments about the files

I don't have any protection on this install on this computer. I've been fine for about a half-year.

i use http://systemmechanic.com/ for the past 5 years and all i did was update, it has everything in it also, the virus scan, defragment, registry error, and everything else. it also has a status report on how well your pc is performing

Avast! is the best anti virus around,also does anti spyware.

I don't have any protection on this install on this computer. I've been fine for about a half-year.

I Bet my life that if you were to do a virus scan right now,you would find atleast 1 virus/trojan/adware/spyware infection.

McAfee anti-virus, windows firewall, windows defender anti-spyware. Ccleaner to clean out all the junk that builds up, and clean out the registry.
