Default pc prob

On my computer I start it up and sometimes the bios menu appears an the if i click the reset button nothing appears on the screen. I think it's the graphics card but was wondering if a cpu overheating could cause it

I can't think of anything right off the bat that would cause that but I would start by taking out the graphics card then checking the RAM.
