Default Password Protected Files

Can anyone please tell me if you can put a passworrd on a folder and how to do this?

I think, if you download Winrar, and create a WinZIP file, you can set a password on it then, I think there is a way in XP pro as well, or you may want to have a look at www.truecrypt.org
