Parts for new gaming comp

I am new to computer building, It's in my nature to put things/build stuff..So I am going to embark on a medium/low end computer build.. My question is I read a post from 08 that stated whats needed in a build, Is this all thats need to build a 2012 computer?
CPU
Mother Board
RAM
PSU
HDD
Case
Disk Drive
CPU Cooler
Heat sink and Fan
GPU
and possibly some arctic silver 5

Am I missing anything or will i need something else?

Definitely get Arctic Silver 5; that stuff is very, very good.

Motherboard is one word.

The only thing I see missing is cables, such as S-ATA cables.

you could also get an SSD to go along with the HDD

I wouldn't recommend an SSD, unless you've got plenty of cash to spare. Many SSDs are dodgy, ATM, particularly OCZ. If you can find one that's a known success, and have the cash to spare, then it would be pretty sweet.
