really, you won't need help when you got it. the GUI is soo easy to use and the wizards will guide you through every step, you can't go wrong.

You want to use the spare space that has not yet been partitioned. To the left of the main window in PM 8 there is an option saying 'Create Partition' click on that and follow the wizard. Then it's job done. There's also other wizards on there such as re-sizing partitions, deleting partitions, and formatting

Yes, you could just install it too without having any partitions if you wanted, using your full 100gb drive. It's your choice, just format again in that case and start again

Though I would create two partitions to save some files if windows went down.

A note on what I said before, creating two partitions on the Windows setup will always create two windows setups. I didn't think about that, but you can just delete one Windows after sorting out the boot bit.

Getting that program is the best thing you could do I think honestly. You can modify, add things, and then you'd have this for other times. Trust me

If you had two partitions, and risky programs were installed on the second one then this WOULD hold the spyware and not your windows one.
Though if you installed the programs on the one with Windows which could have spyware, this couldn't spread to the other remaining partitions with important data, though viruses still could as these copy themselves...

A good way to split it would be to have all software on the one with windows, and some that you know are safe on the second one with all your important files. Games would be safe on the second one too.

An important thing to remember is that spyware does not intertwine into other games that didn't hold it in the first place, they don't copy themselves in that way.

Do you have spyware cleaners? and any other protection to help get rid of things? If not you will need them! I'll post some good ones in that case

Three main types of protection are needed when using the web

Virus/trogan (different thing) cleaners

AVG Antivirus (if it finds anything it tells you how to get rid of them):

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

Spyware cleaner. Spybot search and destroy, is a very good program:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Firewall (the default windows one won't count)
A good free one is Zonealarm and will protect you from hackers:

EDIT: As for formatting is concerned, this doesn't exactly delete data, it just deletes the information on the harddrive telling the hard drive where files are, the file table in other words.
Though this would cause spyware/viruses/trogans never to come back since it would have lost where they all are and so you'd be safe

norton, ad-aware se, spyware doctor, spysweeper, spybot.
But i can't get rid of this one thing. There's a program that opens a IE in the background when my computer starts and i can never get rid of it. And everytime i open IE i have this stupid toolbar popping up, with topics like Make Money, Music, Casino, Investing, Travel and Mortgage. How can i get rid of it?? if you would like, i can post a screen shot of it.

Get a pop up blocker to in that case
A good free one is the Google pop up blocker:

http://toolbar.google.com/googlebar.html

You could also use Mozilla Firefox which is a safer and sometimes faster alternate to Internet Explorer and lets you import settings and your saved sites automatically. This has a built in blocker

http://www.mozilla.org/

Many people will recommend it
Hope this helps
