www.ranish.com/part

a small free partition manager.
capable of doing everything partition magic can do, but works from a dos boot disk and lacks the pretty interface.

XP has in the administrative tools all you need to split a hard disk. I know they have it on XP Pro but am not sure if it is on XP home edition.
Check in administrative tools/computer management/storage/disk Management the Help tab should give all the information you need.

Well I guess XP home edition don't have everything Pro version has.
Why don't you download a free trialware of Paragon. Use it to partition your disk and when times up, who cares, the job will be done.
