Default Partition Error? how do i fix it?

hello, i'm trying to use powerquest's partition Magic to resize my extra hard drive that only has 30gb of movies on it. there about 112gb free but it won't let me resize, instead i get this error when i run the "check for errors", when i select the partition.:
severity: error
number: 1608
Description: File record mark used, file 101.

is this a bad error? is it fixable, thanks
