Of course they know, they will never admit it, but they know.

Haha, usually parents understand that kind of stuff. Unless they lived on a remote island as kids, they should've gone through that before.

What Ive learned it to just let them think that they know exactly what your doing. That way when they start to joke around with you about what you may or may not have been doing, just laugh and play along. It makes em think twice.

Ill step in to this thread, as a parent. No we do not know for sure everything you are doing. Even when we think we know, we arn't 100% sure. We can be fooled if we dont want to think you are doing something. I am pretty pc savy (more so then my 13 year old son anyway) so I am confident that I know what he is browsing on the net without having installed any sofware ... yet anyway.

I do find questionable things in his history after him and his friends have been in the office alone for a while, but so far nothing that I thought I needed to yell at him for.

But over all, parents are not as confident as we seem to be and can be convinced of just about anything so long as you dont have a proven history of poor judgment.

Hope that helps

As another parent stepping in here and speaking out. Let me say this. You probably couldn't even find something to do that we as kids haven't already done and experienced and the sooner you get a grasp on that the better your whole relationship with your own parents will be. We may not talk around you about some of the things that we did in our youth but it isn't because there is no trust it is because you have yet to act responsibly enough to understand. Granted that you may be smarter and more up to date on current events...but that does not show that you are responsible.
The times were totally different than what they are now. Leaving a door unlocked while you went to bed or even left home for a while was nothing then. NOw.....not on your life. And that is the point exactly. It is your life that we are worried about. Children are just TOO TRUSTING today and it scares the hell out of us parents. You say that you can't talk to us because we don't understand. What we don't understand is haveing to find out things from the neighbors or the doctor or police, after it is too late to really help you.
You feel all safe and secure sitting at home and because you are young you also feel invincible. These are natural feelings and all very good...but there are some that will use that to gain your confidence just so as to hurt you for their own perverted reasons. And this is what you are not ready for. You cannot protect yourself from something that you do not perceive as dangerous.
And you really fail to understand about the WWW is that anyone can be any one they wish to be in here.
As a parent ,i really don't care about the so called "porn" I care about what you are doing and if you are truely old enough to understand it for what it is not for how it makes you feel. And this goes for those friends of yours. Having fun is one thing...having fun at another's expense is something totally different.
