Just wondering if you are, in any way, able to enter the directory of a main site, which gives you all the images, etc used or loaded up onto the domain name

If you are talking about the domains root directory, there are only 2 people that would be able to. The sites builder and the owner of the site.. In most cases they are one in the same..but in some cases they are different people as those are password protected also and can only be gotten to thru the admin area where even mods can't pass.
