I recently just changed cases to the Aspire X-Navigator and along with that have come overheating problems. I didn't change any hardware configurations from the last case i used and it worked fine, but now with the new case i cant get it to idle under 55+ C. System finally shutsdown automatically after 80 C.

System Specs

Aspire X-Navigator (4 - 80MM fans/ 1 - 120MM fan)
500 W Power Supply
Amd Athlon 64 3000+
Asus SK8V SE Deluxe
Xtreme Gamer CPU Fan
NVidia GeForce 5700
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
WD 180GB Hard Drive
52X Read
52X Read/ 32X Re-Write/ 52X Record
52X Read/ 24X Re-Write/ 52X Record/ 16X DVD-ROM

Anyone have any suggestions on ways to turn the fans to get the best possible air flow?

Thats really messed up dude, I have a prescott 775 p4 in a case that has just one crappy 80mm fan in the back, and I idle at 41C
what kind of thermal paste did you use on your cpu?

Alright, i'll go give that a try and see if it changes anything. I've been playing with the case fans and such all day and have managed to get it to idle as low as 43 and as high as 50.

Make sure that u have the heatsink&fan&thermal paste set correctly. And if u just put it together the heat will get lower after some use.

I've had it for a while, but just recently finally got frustrated enough (and decided to take a pride hit) and ask for some help.
