Hi

My Dad's PC has an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ which runs at 1533.4MHZ.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if and how I can overclock this.

Also, What would be a safe overclock without having to buy any extra cooling devices.

Thanks

You would have to go into the BIOS and then find where the FSB and mutiplier is. Once you have found those raise your FSB and your multiplier to what would be safe. For example your fsb could be 160 and your multiplier could be ten so that would give you 1.6ghz(160x10=1600mhz or 1.6ghz). I dont think you would want to go past 1.7 ghz though. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't go messing with you're DADS computer unless he knows what's going on, and you know exactly what you're doing..

That's too true. I think I'll leave it and keep the warranty

Thank's for both of your help
