Default Overclocking an ahtlon 64 X2 4800+ Skt 939

will overclocking a X2 4800+ be the same procedure as overclocking my 4000+?? will i need to update my bios or anything? im also using Motherbroad monitor 5, the temp im getting from that is for both cores right?
