Default Overclocking 7600GS?

How far do you think I can over clock this safely and at what idle temperature should I stop over clocking because I tried using coolbits to overclock and the temperature still idles at around 45C.

Well, clock the thing till you start to get artifacts, then back it down a few MHz. Keep an eye on the temp under load, it shouldn't get too high.

Tell me if this sounds right. Pushing 583 MHz core speed and no artifacts at 59 degrees C. Sounds kinda odd to me.

If that's a loaded temp, that's pretty good.

My 7800GT is idling around 59-60.

Doesn't 580 sound a little high, it started at like 350. And do you think there's gonna be any significant wearing away to 60 degrees C?

It does sound high, but as long as all your video tests run with no artifacts, then the more the merrier.

Sounds very weird. Just try a game / any other app that needs a lot of power from the gpu and see what the temps are like then. And as a general rule, as long as there are no artifacts and temps are under 100C (under load) it's all good.
