overclocking

i have an old compaq presario 7360 and was wondering if it was possible to overclock it

it has a 500mhz k62 processor with a compaq 0648h motherboard

It's not possible unless you flash the motherboard...which could brick it...and I wouldn't even know how to go about that with that old of a rig. Manufacturers lock their BIOS so you can't overclock them...I'm not sure for how long they've been doing this, but I'd think even that old of a rig would be locked as well. Overclocking is usually only an option if you build the rig yourself. Then you can go crazy with Core 2 Duo/Quads and AMD Black edition CPUs (although, overclocking, is obviously not restrained to just these CPUs)
