Angry Outlook express problem

On a newish PC running Windows XP, a problem was experienced with MacAfee Anti - Virus. All incoming emails now come with an Attachment, starting with ATT 00001.HTM, and increasing nemerically with each email. The attachment is an HTM copy of the email text. Virus scans indicate no infection. Anyone any ideas ? It is driving me up the wall !!

Hoping for words of wisdom,

Ian C

Thanks - Have considered that, but need to identify it to get rid of it. Emails sent are not infected, though ? This suggests it may be a bug rather than a virus.

Thanks - I assume you mean an XP reinstall. That is certainly the final solution, albeit a sledgehammer to craxck a nut. It would be nice to identify and rectify the cause.
