Question outlook express not receiving anymore

ok i can send but when i hit the send /recieve button i recieve the error:

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop3.cogeco.ca', Server: 'pop3.cogeco.ca', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

yesterday because my norton antivirus is about to expire i installed AVG anti virus and deleted some files after it found them infected but did not remove/repair them on its own

i tried system restore and my recycle bin is empty , besides these 2 things i'm pretty novice to pc's

thanks for any help, Ron

On the AVG Control Panel stop the E-mail scanning and see what happens.

Well, E-mail Virus's Come as an attachment, what you can do when you click on an attachment it will ask if you want to save it or open it, you can click save, then locate the file in My Documents and Right Click on Scan for Virus's using AVG.

And thankyou for the rep.
