Default Optimizing Computer to run faster?

I guess what I am looking is tips on to run a faster computer. I am talking about utilities or programs or even just websites or book that would give hints on helping a computer run faster. Also mine has ht is there hints and so on making the computer run faster or smoother? Also I am not talking about overclocking, so be sure and exclude that from you reply please Thanks!

wuts ur specs?
and do diskclean up disk defrag. scan for viruses ad-ware spy-ware..and registry mechanic or someother program like that

well one thing u could do is buy a video card...do u have an extra PCI Express slot or AGP..if not u would have to buy a PCI card. check if u do if u dont no then...post a pic of the inside of the computer so we can see if u do or not

sry bout the double post but i just looked up ur board and im preety positive u have PCI-e so u can buy a new video card depends wut ur budget is but one like this will do the job..http://www.newegg.com/Product/IntelligenceMore.asp that is kinda expensive but it all depends on ur budget..but a video card will definitly help ur computer out alot

Sorry bout my sig, im new here. um well i dont really play much games, just once in awhile. On the video card im looking for 100-140 for that budget, what would u all recommend?

no becase that is a AGP card...u need PCI-E or Express..
they are different type of connections to ur motherboard..
and also double check if that mobo has PCI-E

That's not PCI-X, it's AGP, not compatible, and i thought we were staying under $140?

also if u do get another video card make sure u go in the bios and turn off the onboard video..there should be a setting..

did u build this computer urself..or did u buy it from a store?
