Optimal use of an Eee 4G 701

I have been using many different types of computers since about 1964. (The first was an Elliot 803 with 8k of RAM but the size of a house).

So I am quite experienced, particularly with modern laptops having 4GB RAM and 1TB hard drives.

I have now bought an Eee 4G 701 with 2GB RAM, a superb machine but one incredibly limited in storage.

Mine has a 4GB solid state hard drive, a 16GB SDHC card and a 16GB mini usb stick.

Almost immediately I ran out of space on the SSHD but I still have plenty of space on the SD and USD drives.

How can I best make use of these two drives and reduce the load on the SSHD?

Are there any good guides on the use of the Eee?

Nice to see some older folks around :)

As long as you can keep the 16gb SDHC card in at all times, you can try to keep your 4gb internal SSD to a minimal with just your OS and install whatever programs you have to the SDHC card.

I have one of these netbooks kicking around somewhere taken apart and the "4gb SSD" is actually just a few flash chips soldered to the motherboard.

Thanks for helpful reply.

So there's no chance of upgrading the 4GB!!

Is there a limit to the size of the SD card and is the speed (class) of the card critical?
