I'm looking for a desktop replacement notebook (I will be using it for things like Multimedia, Gaming, media center, music, video, internet, DVD/CD burning)

See if you can help me find one, I am looking to spend around $1400

Or look at the few i selected below..

Which one seems the best fit and why...
The ability to upgrade components would be nice as well. (CPU/RAM/HDD/ <future SSD> maybe even GPU)

I want features like E-Sata and HDMI, I also want nothing smaller than 17" - bigger the better...

:D

First one is very nice....
Other 2 are meh IMO, Gateway is terrible, do not buy from them, HP has been good, but is going downhill.

Specs are very good on all 3 though.
I'd look at ASUS notebooks too.

Thanks for the input, but

Explain why gateway is terrible
Explain why HP is going downhill

Well, Gateway tends to use some pretty crappy parts, and they don't offer hardly any help when something does go wrong. Plus they tend to load it with crapware, and my neighbor's gateway had some huge security hole caused by something they installed.

HP is still decent, but they used to have some of the best computers out there.

Like I said, My opinion. Others may disagree with this.

Well the parts listed are standard Nvidia/Intel, it does not list the manufacturer of the RAM, LCD screen ect... but neither do the other manufacters, and I have not generally had issues with them, so i will need better proof.

As far as software and OS issues, I will be wiping and reloading with my own anyway.

Still looking for more options and opinions...

Here is an ASUS that just came on the market..

a GTX 260M .. if it had a 17" screen i would be very excited about it.. But its still not out of the question...
But its smaller 15.6" screen has a higher resolution.. and its processer is one step up as well (2.53 GHZ) from (2.4GHZ)...

But the warrenty is only a 1 year compared to 3 years on the MSI laptop...
