Opinions on my build...

[Fire-Rescue]

Hey guys, going to upgrade my computer tomorrow through Memory Express (http://www.memoryexpress.com). My current computer is about 2 years old, and while is sufficient, I want to get into gaming a bit (nothing too crazy) and will have to upgrade. Im getting mostly new components, and using some from the previous system to save on money, as im not a serious gamer. Heres what im going for:

Was just wondering what you guys think, and if Im going to have any issues, this is what the salesman set me up with for a decent mid-high range computer for my needs. If you guys notice anything from the website that has a better bang for the buck I could use in lieu of, please let me know (ie. something that costs like 20 bucks extra for a ton of extra performance). Also was wondering If i need a sound card, I have 2.1 speakers and its fine the way it is for me, opinions?

Looks good, but don't plan on doing much overclocking on that board, as for an 8800, you won't be playing loads of games, so you can't really justify paying more for a graphics card.
I'm not a big fan of the Antec 900 at all TBH, but if you like it then that's fine. I personnally would be expecting a lot more for that much $. It's small, steel and just putting fans everywhere doesn't necessarily help cooling but does increase noise.

What else do you want to do? You might not have to spend $200+ on a CPU.

I agree with not spending as much on the processor.

Your sound should be fine as long as your just expecting basic sound and no real good quality sound to be played on your computer.

I'd go for a decent ASUS motherboard, use a cheaper CPU and overclock it.

I would choose another case. I've been asked to build a number of computers for clients and the Antec 900 is one of the most cramped cases ever. Routing cables is a nightmare through it. I now refuse to build any computers with that case just because of the problems with routing cables...

I have to disagree. I love the Antec 900.
