Default opengl error?

hi, whenever i try to run an opengl application it comes up with this error:

Driver component sizes mis match.

it also does not let me access the advanced section in my control panel display.

Please help, my card is a nvidia 128mb geforce fx5200 running on win xp with sp2

any help would be appreciated

Thanks
