Default online security

hey, im using an unsecured wireless network belonging to my next door neighbour.

I need to order some books urgently for my uni course, and i have no other way of ordering them apart from using there internet.

Im using Amazon website to order the books....will this be safe for my bank details?

Yes it should be safe. Just make sure that the address is prefaced with https:\\
