LOOK AT THIS THING!!!

http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/therm...pu-cooler.html

O now to my question haha, didnt think you would get away without a question did u I want to get this, and i dont expect any of you to have the answer but i would appreciate your opinion. i have a Nvidia nforce 780i mobo ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188024 )
i wouldnt have this set vertically, but if my case was horizontal do you think the amount of wieght would still be ok on my mobo? keep in mind it is 1900g

Thanks

You should be fine horizontally as long as you're using all of your motherboard supports. You could always put something behind the board to help prevent bowing.

If you do go vertical, I highly suggest you support it one way or another.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you would be better off having it set horizontal since the weight would be distributed evenly on the cpu. If it was vertical the heatsink's weight would pull the top part of the heasink away from the cpu (very slightly).

that's a lot to pay for probably a few degrees difference in performance over some cheaper, but also very good coolers...

I've got one almost identical to that. I have my case sitting vertical with no supports and it's been running just fine (with low temps and no bowing) for about 6 months now. I have one almost exacty like that but I got mine WAY cheaper....check out this link.

I know.

It probably doesn't make more than a few degrees of difference! :P
...or are you referencing to the weight issue?

Well both.

I mean copper is a fairly dense material, and it is a GREAT thermal conductor.

Under normal loads and processes, there wont be a difference between yours and this copper one. The copper will excel in serious heat conditions, severs and alike.

And its heavier
