Omg Help!

well, the files aren't that important, they would just save me some time because i have a few word documents i have to correct, but i can just type it out again...the most important thing is that i got my dad's files :) he would freak out if i didnt have those because he made some updates that arent on our back-up disc.

i dont have an original, just a recovery
Oh well, i'm going to reformat now
Thanks lurkswithin...and...kage :p

Was Kage put after an after thought :p Hehe

Okay, good luck with it all. I wouldn't bother locking files next time :p

Place files you don't want other people to access in a zip file for example instead and place a password on that....and one you can remember too, hehe

yea good idea, i dont even know why i didnt make them accesible. No need really, dont have porn, lol
well, next time i'll know

Ok cool.
Just remember to back-up your files frequently to either disc or another drive/partition. and also learn how to utillize system restore. For most problems it can be your whole solution
set restore point prior to installing programs and updates and at least every week if not every day.
I got my son TRAINED to do it every evening before shutting down and that works great so that he is able to save his game plays and all.
Good Luck!!

To get the security tab you have to go to control panel-folder options-view- and scroll to the bottom and uncheck the file sharing option.
