That's a very nice build and will handle all your games extremely well. Have fun with it.

Honestly, if you're not doing SLI, get a P35 chipset. They are much more stable at higher FSB speeds when overclocked and cheaper too. Plus, that PSU is probably some piece of generic shit that will not produce it's rated power.
TBH, I think that's pretty steep for an E4xxx. For only $20 more, you can have a 45nm E7200 with 3MB of L2 cache and a 9.5 multi. Overclocking potential is comparable to the E8400.
The second kit can do 1N timings at 800MHz but the first is a very good price.
Mushkin are a good brand too if you can find some of their memory.
I would personnally go with Vista as you hardware can easily handle it. I have been using it for 6 months and I wouldn't willingly go back to XP.

For the graphics car, if you're not building this right away, The HD 4800 series will be out on June 15th and they are looking good. The HD 4850 should be $200 whilst the HD 4870 will be $250-$300.

not a TD sucks post, but I found this CompUSA link for $50 less, is it the same ATX case and PSU...?

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...=OTC-GPRODUCTS

if so, you could save $50 to go towards upgrading somewhere else, maybe the processor...?

oops, just realized my mistake, no mobo, lol, well, I got that link when searching for the PSU, is ULTRA a good PSU brand name...?

Ultra has had some problems in the past with their earlier units, but I hear that their newer stuff is very good.

It is about the same,. It's not the best Mushkin make and I'd say that kit has probabley about the same OC potencial as the OCZ kit.
Yep, that would be fine.

From Guru3D:

We have absolutely no idea how valid these results are. Yet there are some results floating on the web showing regarding ATI's upcoming ATI HD 4870 512MB ATI HD 4870 versus the 1GB GeForce 9800 GX2. Included are Crysis and 3DMark06 results.

Let me state that anyone can make this stuff up and re-produce some nice charts. But if true .. very interesting as it would certainly seem that the new Radeon is an impressive contender. A well .. fingers crossed.
