I just ordered my new CPU for my desktop, what i need to know is what needs to be done prior to installation of the processor and fan/heatsink. I want to make sure this goes on right cause it's more expensive than the last CPU i installed. Thanks.
If it doesn't have the rubber pad just stick some thermal pase on there and make sure you take the plastic off the hsf if there is any. What cpu? and is it stock hsf?
Well i got it today and it had some sort of rubber padding. It's an E7200 with the Intel heatsink and fan. It seems to be running good right now, still installing my internet OS.
