yes but i was comparing DUAL 6600GT to a single X800XL not a X800XT
anyway see here;

ok here are the benchmarchs;

X800XL: 80.1 @ $365-GPU + $135 mobo.
2X 6600GT:73.36... @ $368- Both GPUs + $239.00 mobo.

and the Most FPS PER Buck is

X800XL:0.16012
2X 6600GT:0.12

muaahahahhaha

games tested: farcry, hl2, doom 3, and halo

The 6600 GT is truly a work of art in the mainstream market....... Especially that they introduced the card in AGP format and its only 3.5% slower than its PCI- E big bro. However AGP doesnt have SLI. But Nvidia has taken over the mainstream market for the casual and somewat hardcore gamer.

Evidently, ATI is not doing enough to target the mainstream market. Furthermore, PCI-E has close to 0% difference in performance with AGP 8X. Nvidia has a stranglehold over the market when it comes to hardcore gamer. No hardcore gamer needs an ATI X800... that's why ATI is going to remain a niche card developer.. nothing more.
