Nvidia+Vista = Crap...

I have just experienced the same problem that other people seem to be having.

For some reason, 32 bit Vista doesn't like 4 gigs RAM and Nvidia graphics drivers being used in conjunction. (I know Vista doesn't recognize all 4gigs RAM). It just seems to crash all the time. Yet this setup is fine in XP, or if your only using 2gigs of RAM in Vista.

So, I'm sticking to the windows driver for my Geforce 6600 gs. It seems to work fine this way.
However, will using the windows driver affect my gameplay performance?

Anybody else have similar issues? I think it affects 8800 users aswell...

Vista requires a hotfix for 4GB of memory. Some people couldn't even install Vista with 4 gigs installed without it crashing. I didn't have any issues installing mine. You can download a hotfix for the issue with 4GB of memory.

ESA is correct you should have got the 64bit version since your using that much memory. Its a bit of a waste on a 32bit OS.

You should look for the update KB929777 hotfix. Although there may be a different hotfix for 32bit.
