Default nVidia & my TV

yesterday i upgraded my nvidia forceware stuff to whatever the newest one is, i think its 93.71. it automatically detected that i was connected to a tv, but it was set to 1081dp or whatever its called, and i was unable to change it. i couldn't see anything on my computer monitor and everything on the tv was almost static (i can only set it to M/NTSC). so i gave up, and reinstalled my o/s and everything else (thank u gateway for a recovery partition). just incase this tv problem were to happen again, is there something i can press will booting to make the nvidia stuff not detect a tv? (note, 'force tv detection' is not checked.)

i was attempting to figure out how to get it off the tv and onto my monitor, but i couldn't, so i reinstalled everything. i wasn't planning on it, but i said hey, why not. everythings going kind of slow so a good install would be nice.
