Default nvidia driver help

I have an EVGA Nvidia 7800GTX graphix card and i uninstalled the old drivers to install the more recent 83.40 drivers. When I try to install them a message appears saying "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit". Then I tried to reinstall my previous drivers and the same message appeared. What do i do???

What operating system are you running? For windows XP/2000/64bit the latest drivers are 84.56 and for Media Center the latest version is 81.98.

Uninstall all drivers. Go into Device Manager and delete the video card and let Windows scan for new hardware. Do not install drivers. Let Windows install their piece of crap VGA drivers first. Then go online and get the latest and greatest Forceware drivers and install.
*Fact: Microsoft Window's Blue Screen of Death vs Computerforums.org's White Screen of Death. Which is worse?
