so the card is rumored to come out in February, towards the end, and i read somewhere that the starting price is $169, and its an midrange card. Sli'ing it will out perform a single 8800, forgot which series though. The 9600 GT will not support DX 10.1, which will not be able to match up to the new ATI 3XXX cards. and rumored that the 9XXX series will not support DX 10.1 but only DX10, at least until an refreshed one comes out. I know i said this a lot, and the only reason why i still have my X1950 is because it out performs quite a lot of cards. Im thinking of getting an DX10 card for future use, and have a dual boot of XP and Vista. From the specs they post, is the 9600 GT better? or the X1950?
i know nobody knows for sure, but can someone please help me decide and see which one is better in performance wise. There arent much DX10 games, but as time goes by, my X1950 will start to lose value, and it'll be harder for me to get a DX10 when more games starts to show. If you guys think that the 9600 GT outperforms my X1950, then i will try to sell it (either on Craigs List, Friends, or people here) and if the X1950 outperforms the 9600, then i will stick with my X1950 till i have enough money for either a ATI 3XXX card, 8800, or even the 9800, which by then will probably be the end of this year, or somewhere around next year since theres a lot of stuff i want.
thanks in advance

well according to these sites, there is no DX10.1 for the 9600. not sure if any of these are true or not. I hope theyre not, since i want a decent card for at least a year. I dont think i ever kept the same card in my computer for even 6 months. i got my X1950 in November, and my previous one (X700), i think i used it for about 5 months.

One of the odd things is that this card will still not support DirectX 10.1, according to the list of key features it only supports DX10.
