hey guy's i have this accer laptop that will not shut down or restart from start menu but if i hold the power button in it will checked the setting all good there any suggestions thanks guy's
press Ctrl + alt+del and see what processes you have running, try closing some down, look in the task bar as well as you may have something like peerguardian which require the program to be closed before shut down, run a virus scan as well.
also use what blackjack said and close it down if it need to be, also you can set the power down feature under power options , its somewhere in control panel and it will allow you to set a key for stand by, power down, and restart.
virus scan, defrag, and when you press control,alt,delete and then see what is bieng used more ram or pross its under the performancearea of that window and post what it is saying. Also what are you specs and what are you doing when this happens.
