Not recognizing RAM

Hey there guys,

Today I installed 2 new 2GB RAM sticks I bought, for a total of what should be 6GB of RAM (I had only 2GB before)

My motherboard has 4 RAM slots: [1GB] [1GB] [2GB] [2GB]

Now, my "Welcome Center" window shows my computer only having 3GB, which is weird because somehow it's only 1GB more than before instead of showing no increase or only 2GB increase. However, when I look at my BIOS, there it says I have 6144GB of RAM.

These are my parts:

2GB RAM -

4GB RAM (newest purchase) -

Anyone know why, or what I should do, or if there's no problem...

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have a 32-bit operating system. This will only read up to 4Gb and use around 3GB. You will need to install a 64-bit OS to utilize all of your RAM.
