Default Not many websites set up for widescreens

I just got my new 19" widescreen lcd monitor, and am disappointed with all of the websites that are not set up to display on the widescreen monitors yet. I don't imagine there is anything I can do on my end...I think it's just how they program the website correct? Any suggestions on how others with widescreens surf around? Do you just keep your browser maximized, or make it smaller and have something else open like an instant messenger program or something? Guess it's going to take an adjustment period to get used to it....and sure hope more websites go widescreen soon...

i thought once you hit the maximize button on the window it fits to whatever resolution you have.

Most web pages are just centered on the page, so it doesn't matter what resolution you use...
