Default Norton and McAfee together...

I bought Norton antivirus 2006 and somebody gave their copy of McAfee 2006 (their computer wasn't good enough lol) anyway, will there be any issues if I run the two simultainiously?

Thanks!

I wouldn't run two at the same time, I'd use Norton. It's a resource hog, but I find it better than McAfee... they might conflict if two are ran together.

Bad idea to use them both at same time, just stick to norton.

Don't run two anti-virus programs at the same time. You see both programs, run processes that are active behind all your normal processes, known as resident shields. When two shields would be running at the same time, it would cause software confliction and perhaps even cause you to have an unstable os. When you attempt to install another anti-virus program, when you already have Norton installed, it prompts you to stop the installation.

Yeah, better not run two different antivirus programs. Too many conflicts even if you have them running at different times. You'll never see any PC running two antivirus software at any time. Multi firewall are ok.
