Default Norton 360 and MS Visual C++ Problems

I have been trying to install Norton 360 Version 2 on my desktop for a while now. I just won't accept it. I keep getting an error message that tells me to click a link as a component could not be installed. The link redirects me to Sysmantec help website and tells me that I need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package http://service1.symantec.com/support...build=Symantec and give me a link to this. Problem is though I just won't install, I keep getting the same message when I try to install Vistal C++ that says:

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2381"

I am trying to to install the x64 version as I have Vista 64bit. I have tried downloading it from different sites and even formatting my computer and it still won't work, anyone know why? Thanks
