Noob question.. have DSL modem + laptop..

Hi..

I have a DSL modem and also a laptop and on my regular desktop computer I have an internet connection.

So to get an internet connection, do I just plug my DSL modem into my laptop and it will automatically connect? Or what do I do?

Sorry.. i'm not a very tech-smart guy haha.

well some asdl companys give you a fee days and they send your product then it will tell you wait for the activation code to come threw and you activate it by phoning them.

but yer plug it all in but before you do that its best you phone them

if you got internet on the desktop, the broadband is activated, and to get it on the laptop, you would plug it in, and insert the broadband cd if you got one, if not, then you would have to go through the windows network setup wizard. You will need the username and password supplied to you by the broadband company, if you dont have that, you will not be able to get it on your laptop im afraid.
